Discovering Gateway
Discovering Gateway offers our visitors an opportunity to investigate what it means to join a church. It’s also an important step to take if you are considering making Gateway your church home. For two Sunday afternoons we look at what it means to join the journey of becoming a fully devoted follower of Christ, and we cover what you can expect to find at Gateway to help you on your journey.
What can I expect at DG?
The afternoon begins at 3pm, and is hosted by friendly leaders who look forward to getting to know you better. One of our pastors will speak about making the decision to choose Gateway as your church home, introducing thought-provoking and informative content. The speaker is following by small group discussion time for you to dig deeper into the topic. Along with getting to know others, we feed you a great meal, and take care of your kids during the session.
What are discussion times like?
•Come as you are
No question is too simple or hostile, and all points of view are respected. There are also no wrong answers!
•Authentic
Life is full of real challenges – shaky employment, relationship struggles, parenting troubles and illness. No matter what you are facing this is a safe place to be authentic and to ask the hard questions.
•Challenging questions & honest dialogue
Who is Jesus and why did he die? How can I be sure of my faith? Can I really be authentic at church? Does God guide us in the everyday? Why are there cup holders in our auditorium? What is Team Gateway, and why doesn’t Gateway offer adult Sunday school classes? We discuss these and other questions during the session.
•Relationship building
Many who join a Life Group after completing Discovering Gateway choose to do so with members of their DG discussion group.
What else can I expect?
Food and Fun
Discovering Gateway is fun! No worries about what to cook for Sunday dinner and hanging out with friendly people – no expectations or strings attached.
Is Childcare provided?
Children infant – Elementary bring a sack dinner and enjoy activities with our trained childcare staff. Please reserve your childcare when you register for the class.
When is the next session?
DG sessions are offered 3-4 times a year, about every 3-4 months. Upcoming sessions will be posted in the Sunday Bulletin and on the Upcoming Events page of the website.
